Meera Nair

Chief People Officer

Meera took on the role of Chief People Officer for the ICS in January 2024 and has been in leadership roles within south east London for the last seven years. She is employed by Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust as Chief People Officer and has been in this role for nearly five years. She was previously the Director of Workforce and Quality Improvement at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. Before that, she held leadership roles at Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust, University College London NHS Foundation Trust and Basildon and Thurrock NHS Foundation Trust. She is London CPO representative on the NHS Staff Council Executive. Meera has nearly 22 years’ NHS experience overall, and previously worked in the private sector as Head of Human Resources for various organisations in India and the US.

She has been personally committed to supporting those who struggle with mental illness and addressing the stigma that can be associated with it. To this end, she is a Trustee with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and is the Chair of the Maya Centre, a charity in North London that provides mental health support for women who have experienced trauma and abuse.
