A series of Clinical summits, delivered in partnership by Greenwich Health (GP Federation), Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust (LGT), have raised £3,525 for Community Hospice for the people of Greenwich & Bexley. The money was raised through ticket sales and attendee contributions.

A cheque was recently presented by Dr Eugenia Lee (local GP and Chair of Greenwich Health’s Training Hub), Dr John O’Donohue (Consultant, LGT), Ruth Keel (Programme Lead, Greenwich Health) and Sarah Burchell (Director of Physical Health, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust) on behalf of everyone involved in the summits.

Kate Heaps, Chief Executive of Community Hospice said:

“We’re so grateful to everyone involved in the Clinical Summits for choosing to support our hospice in this way. To see professionals from across the system come together not just to learn and connect, but to give back to the community in such a meaningful way is incredibly special. This donation will help us continue to provide care, comfort, and dignity to local people at the end of life and we’re truly thankful for the support.”

The Clinical Summits brought together colleagues from across the health and care system, including teams from LGT, Oxleas, GP practices, NHS South East London ICB, Royal Greenwich Public Health and voluntary and community sector partners including the Community Hospice, Kairos, Volunteer Centre Greenwich, Live Well, MSK Circle, VIA, Carers Centre, and Metro GAVS, Public Health, and the ICB. These events created space for meaningful conversations, shared learning, and strengthened collaboration across organisations.

Each summit focused on a distinct theme:

  • The first summit highlighted the value of collaboration and led to the development of an online hub (Padlet) to find the right support faster.
  • The second summit focused on strengthening links between health and voluntary sector partners, with contributions from Volunteer Centre Greenwich, Metro GAVS, and Live Well.
  • The third summit explored health inequalities, generating thoughtful discussions around practical steps the system can take to promote more equitable care.

Further summits are planned, with the aim of continuing to strengthen local partnerships and make a lasting difference in the community.
