Bexley Wellbeing Partnership are delighted to announce a special matchday dedicated to raising awareness of breast and prostate cancer in partnership with Welling United Football Club, as they take on Cray Wanderers at Park View Stadium.

A special health and wellbeing fair will be running throughout the day, where attendees can speak to local NHS services about cancer awareness, get their blood pressure checked and talk to health professionals about healthy ways of living.

On the day of the match, the Wings will take to the field in a one-off pink and blue strip which supporters will have the opportunity to buy with proceeds going to the local Greenwich and Bexley hospice.

Wings Community Lead, Paul Barnes, said: “The day will be about us using our platform as a club to raise awareness, to stand with those affected by cancer, and to bring our community together for an important cause.

“We’re very pleased to be working alongside NHS Bexley on such a great initiative and we’re truly grateful for their support.

“We look forward to seeing Park View Road turn pink in November and we hope supporters get behind the cause in whatever way they can.”

Patrick Gray, Community Voice Manager for Bexley Wellbeing Partnership, said: “The day will provide a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, cheer on their home side and raise awareness of breast and prostate cancer.

“It’s a chance for people to learn more about cancer awareness and also talk to health professionals who will be there on the day about ways to live healthy lives.”

The health and wellbeing fair will start from 1.30pm and run throughout the day.
