Gabi Darby
Southwark Place Executive Lead
Gabi started her career by undertaking the TeachFirst graduate scheme in Birmingham. From there she moved on to public sector consultancy work, through which she developed a deep interest in the Healthcare system.
Gabi moved initially into the NHS in Northwest London, delivering roles across the whole cluster, within Hammersmith and Fulham CCG and at Imperial College Healthcare Trust where she helped develop an integrated Community Independence Service across three boroughs.
From here, she moved into a national role in the New Care Models programme at NHSE, supporting vanguard sites across the country to deliver integrated models of care and later supporting the national COVID response for primary care. She was the National Director for General Practice prior to joining Greenwich as the Place Executive Lead in October 2024, and then moving to Southwark in October 2026. Gabi is an experienced and collaborative senior leader, focussed on working with partners and communities to improve outcomes.
Gabi holds degrees in Health Policy from Imperial College and Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
