NHS South East London Integrated Care Board is pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Mike Parkinson, as a Non-Executive Director.
Mike will join the Board on 1 July, and replaces Peter Matthew, who is standing down at the end of July.
Mike is a chartered accountant with over 40 years’ senior experience in finance, including as Chief Financial Officer and Board director, much of which he gained at DC Advisory, an international investment bank. He joined DC Advisory in 2001, and was appointed as European Group Chief Financial Officer and Board Director in 2004. He retired from executive roles in 2022 and served for three years as Non-Executive Chaiman of DC Advisory’s European holding company.
Sir Richard Douglas, Chair of the Board, said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Peter Matthew for his dedication and commitment to the work of the NHS in south east London, and for the value he has brought to the Board. His replacement, Mike Parkinson, brings considerable experience from a different sector, and we look forward very much to working with him.”
On his appointment, Mike said, “I am delighted to be joining the Board. I am a committed supporter of the NHS and recognise many of the financial and operational challenges it faces. I am joining at a pivotal moment in the essential work of Integrated Care Boards, and I look forward to working with the Chair, Chief Executive and all my Board colleagues, and others in the wider health and care system, to deliver against our core priorities and continue to improve health and care for everyone who lives and works in south-east London.”
