Lewisham Health and Care Partners are working together to improve mental health services and wellbeing for everyone In Lewisham. The Lewisham Mental Health Alliance brings together key partners delivering and supporting mental health services: South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), Lewisham and Greenwich Trust (LGT), One Health Lewisham (OHL), London Borough of Lewisham (LBL) and NHS SEL Integrated Care Board (NHS SEL ICB).
Originally formed in 2017 to develop integrated delivery of community-based care for adults of working age (18-65yrs), the Alliance extended its reach to children and young people services in 2021, becoming an All-Age Mental Health Alliance. Co-production is at the heart of the Alliance: involving service users, families, carers and communities in designing and delivering services.
Service users, commissioners and providers met online in June 2025 to discuss the identity and branding of the Mental Health Alliance, and key themes emerged during the conversation. The introductory meeting was followed by a face-to-face coproduction event on the 10 September at the Civic Suite.
Together the group discussed previous key themes and developed a first draft of the mission statement. The group went on to exchange ideas on essential elements to consider for branding and identity: to be inclusive and open, reduce stigma, diversity, working together, and collaborative. With the advice and guidance of a graphic designer and impressions and feelings from service users the project is now on the next stage. The group will meet again to check together the design options.
The Alliance supports coordination and joined-up work and aims to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes for all service users and their carers in Lewisham.
