Free flu vaccinations now available across south east London
Free NHS flu vaccinations are now available for children and pregnant women and birthing people across south east London.
Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and your family from flu. Last winter, flu vaccination prevented an estimated 100,000 hospital admissions and 7,000 deaths in England.
From 1 September, free flu vaccinations are available for:
- Pregnant women and birthing people
- Children aged 2 and 3 years
- Children and young people in Reception to Year 11
- Children and young people aged 6 months to under 18 years who are in a clinical risk group
Appointments can be booked on the NHS website and school-aged children will be offered the vaccine through their school.
Other cohorts will begin receiving the vaccine from 1 October. These include those aged 65 years and over, all adults in a clinical risk group, adults in care homes, carers, people in close contact with those who are immunocompromised and frontline healthcare workers.
Alongside flu vaccination, the NHS is also offering vaccines to help protect those most at risk from serious illness caused by COVID-19, RSV and pneumococcal infections. See the NHS website for more information.
