In January, we teamed up with Bromley Libraries, Bromley Council, and Bromley Primary Care Networks (PCNs) for Health Information Week (20-24 Jan 2025).

We hosted pop-up stalls at Chislehurst, Southborough, Petts Wood, Orpington, Hayes, Mottingham, St Paul’s Cray, Biggin Hill, Penge and Bromley Central libraries, where our teams helped residents learn about staying well over winter and how to use the NHS App.

With the NHS App, you can book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions, and access services easily from your phone or computer. Our team was on hand to show people how it works, answer questions, and guide them through the setup.

We also shared practical advice on looking after yourself this winter, with tips for staying healthy, information about vaccinations, and details of free community activities and health services in Bromley.

These events were a team effort, with Digital Transformation Leads (DTLs) from Bromley Primary Care Networks (PCNs) working alongside library staff. Libraries are now trained to support residents with the NHS App and improving their digital skills, making them a fantastic resource for the whole community.

“Health Information Week was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community and ensure people have the tools they need to manage their health. The engagement across Bromley’s libraries was inspiring, and we are proud to have partnered with Bromley Libraries and Council to make this a success,” said Catia Albuquerque, Digital First Change Manager

Residents gave great feedback, saying how useful the help was and how much they appreciated the friendly, one-on-one support.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, as well as the fantastic teams from Bromley Libraries, the PCNs and Bromley Council. To find out more about upcoming events or how you can access the NHS App, visit your local library, or follow @OneBromley on Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) for updates.
