There are now six free health kiosks for people in Southwark to see how healthy they are and to track changes in their health.

From 9 November 2022, Partnership Southwark, which includes the NHS and Southwark Council, established six health kiosks in public buildings so that everyone in the borough can easily access information about their health and seek lifestyle advice to reduce their chance of developing long term conditions.

We have health inequalities across the borough which affect the quality of life and health of people and communities. Whilst we have made progress to tackle this in recent years, it is important that people are aware of their Vital 5 health indicators which include BMI, blood pressure, mental health/stress levels, alcohol status and smoking status. Improving your vital 5 measurements can have a positive impact on your long-term health.

The health kiosks give residents the chance to measure these, and keep track of any changes for free through an online login. People can return to the kiosks an unlimited amount and also use them to measure their body composition and heart rate.

Councillor Evelyn Akoto, Co-Chair of Partnership Southwark and Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing at Southwark Council said: “I am thrilled to have this service now available for residents and would encourage people to use them, especially with winter approaching. The health checks only take 5 minutes to give people a real insight into their health and to also offer some advice.

“We know when people understand how healthy they are, it gives them more power to act on their health and wellbeing. With more pressure on the NHS and our services in the borough, we want to support people to stay well. We hope that by giving people more knowledge and power over their health will help our residents and communities to stay healthier for longer.”

The six kiosks are spread across the borough and are available at:

  • Camberwell Library: 48 Camberwell Green, London, SE5 7AL
  • Canada Water Library: 21 Surrey Quays Road, London, SE16 7AR
  • Dulwich Library: 368 Lordship Lane, London, SE22 8NB
  • Una Marson Library, 62 Thurlow Street, London, SE17 2GN
  • The Castle Leisure Centre: 2 St Gabriel Walk, London. SE1 6FG
  • The Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre: 10 Melon Rd, Peckham, SE15 5QN

A map with all health kiosk sites is available on Google maps here.

Partnership Southwark have worked with SiSU Health Group to establish these health kiosks stations across the borough. Jez Styles, Head of Business Development, SiSU Health Group added: “We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with Partnership Southwark to deliver free, self-service medical grade health checks to the residents of Southwark Borough. SiSU is a Finnish word meaning to have determination and resilience, attributes that are particularly important in these challenging times and when the NHS faces unprecedented workload challenges. We hope our Health stations will provide residents with an alternative opportunity to measure their health, develop their understanding and to take actions that ensure they live healthier lives, longer.”
