Everyone in the UK has the fundamental right to live free from harm and abuse. Safeguarding is everyone’s business.

We are responsible for ensuring that the services we commission are safe and effective, by working closely with many different stakeholders and organisations in Bromley.

The Safeguarding team has adopted a ‘life course’ approach (pre-birth to end of life), including the transition between children and adults, allowing for continuous service improvement within the ICB and across the health economy.

The Bromley Safeguarding team is involved in a variety of place based multi-agency forums, Health oversight in both these statutory and local groups, in compliance with our duties under the NHS Safeguarding Accountability and Assurance Framework. We ensure the relationships between Health and other systems work at both strategic and operational levels to safeguard children, young people children looked after and adults at risk of abuse and neglect.

Safeguarding adults

We support adults who are at risk of abuse and neglect. They are often vulnerable because of their mental health, physical disability, age or illness and may find it difficult to protect themselves from abuse.

We are a statutory partner of the Bromley Adult Safeguarding Board (BSAB) We actively support all the areas of the Board’s work, whose mission is ‘To drive multi -agency working, placing the adult at risk at the centre of all that we do’.
