We are working to support Lewisham residents to access the right care at the right time. Our practice teams have been trained to help you reach the right service.
Whether you pop in, call or make a request online, they’ll ask you to share a brief overview of your query so they can understand how to best direct you. They may suggest booking an appointment with a doctor, another member of the practice team or direct you towards your local Pharmacy team.
You may be offered a face-to-face, phone, or video appointment, depending on the type of query, availability of clinicians and which will suit you best. Appointments are now offered based on clinical need, rather than on a first-come-first-served basis.
We are making it easier for you to get an appointment. In addition to normal practice opening hours (8am to 6.30pm), Lewisham GP practices also offer early morning, evening and Saturday appointments in partnership with their neighbouring practices.
Your Lewisham practice teams are made up of a range of health professionals, based either at the practice or in the wider community. If you need to see a GP, you will always be offered an appointment, but there may be others who can provide the most appropriate support.
Your regular local pharmacist can help you if you have concerns with your medicines and advise you on symptoms including coughs, colds, stomach upsets, bites and stings. Seeing a community pharmacist means you don’t have to wait to see a GP or visit your local A&E, it’s the NHS on the High Street.
The NHS App gives you quick access to a range of services straight from your computer, phone or tablet. You can use it to order repeat prescriptions, book and manage appointments, view your GP health record and book and manage vaccinations.
