Lewisham Community Anticoagulation Service

07 May 2024

The Lewisham Medicines Optimisation Team are pleased to announce that the Lewisham Community Anticoagulation Service operated by the Bromley GP Alliance (BGPA) was launched on 1 May 2024.

The service supports Lewisham residents with local anticoagulation services and is now providing high quality care in the community.

There are six community locations geographically spread across Lewisham. The service also operates a domiciliary service for patients unable to visit clinic locations.

The anticoagulation service is for any Lewisham resident who requires initiation with, or monitoring on, an anticoagulant (blood thinning) medication.

Indications where an anticoagulant medicine may be required are, for example, patients with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or Atrial Fibrillation (AF).
