Lewisham Celebrates Outstanding General Practice Teams at GP Excellence Awards
Lewisham’s general practice teams came together on Friday 23rd January 2026 for the third Lewisham General Practice Excellence Awards. The event, held at the Rivoli Ballroom in Brockley, was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible work of staff across the borough.
It was an evening dedicated to acknowledging the achievements of colleagues in primary care and the difference they make every day to patients and communities in Lewisham.
The nomination award winners are:
- The winner of the GP Practice of the Year: Modality Lewisham
- The winner of the GP of the Year: Dr Ed Morris, Novum Health Partnership
- The winner of the Practice Manager of the Year: Sandra Younsi, Vale Medical Centre
- The winner of the Practice Nurse of the Year: Rebecca Corneck, Lewisham Care Partnership
- The winner of the Administrator of the Year: Oriana Rafael, Lewisham Care Partnership
- The winner of the Extended Practice Team Member of the Year: Amit Luthra, Clinical Pharmacist – Alliance PCN
- The winner of the People’s Choice Award: Dr Taj Singhrao, GP – Depford Medical Centre/New Cross Health Centre
- The winner of the Innovation in Health Award: Aplos Youth And Wellbeing Clinic
- The winner of the System Collaboration Award: Primary / Secondary Care Interface Group: Dr Knight/Dr Jetha/Sandra Younsi/John O’Donohue (LGT)/Tom Hastings (LGT)
- The winner of the Inspiring Leader Award: Dr Helen Tattersfield, Oakview Family Practice

- Highest % Learning Disability Health Checks Completed In The Last 13 Months (95% As Of 1st January 2026): Lewisham Medical Centre
- Highest % SMI Health Checks Completed In The Last 12 Months (74% As Of 1st January 2026): The Vale Medical Centre
- Highest % Cervical Cancer Screening Checks Completed (83% As Of 1st January 2026): Ashdown Medical Group
- Highest % Of Diabetic Patients With 3 Treatment Targets In Range (33% As Of December 2025): Clifton Rise Family Practice
- Highest % Patients (Under 80) With Controlled Blood Pressure (78% As Of December 2025): Ashdown Medical Group
