There are a number of sickle cell support groups across South East London, each linked to a specific hospital trust. These groups offer a great opportunity to connect with others who understand what you’re going through, share experiences, and learn from healthcare professionals.

Lewisham and Greenwich Patient Support Group

  • Who: People over 16 with sickle cell disorder at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, as well as parents and carers.
  • When: First Wednesday of the month, 17:30 – 18:30

Guy’s and St Thomas’ Adult Sickle Cell Support Group

  • Who: People over 16 with sickle cell disorder attending Guy’s and St Thomas’ Haematology Service, along with relatives and carers.
  • When: Every Tuesday, alternating between 13:00 – 14:00 and 17:30 – 18:30.

King’s College Hospital Adult Sickle Cell Patients (& Carers) Support Group

  • Who: People aged 18 and over with sickle cell disorder attending King’s College Hospital, along with carers
  • When: Second Thursday of every month, 17:30 – 19:00
