SEL ICB Colleague Awarded the King’s Coronation Medal

18 Apr 2024

Congratulations to our colleague, Amanda Wixon, who has been honoured with the King’s Coronation Medal. Amanda has been recognised for her work in preparing the NHS across London for the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla on Saturday, 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey.

Amanda is Corporate Risk and Emergency Planning Lead for the South East London Integrated Care Board. She said:

“I am honoured to receive the King’s Coronation Medal. Working towards such a historic event was a wonderful opportunity and I’m grateful that I had the chance to be a part of these celebrations on behalf of south east London.

“I’d also like to thank the rest of my team for their hard work leading up to the Coronation ceremony. It really was a team effort.”

The coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla was a moment of great pride, unity and history. Hundreds of NHS staff from across the country were invited to join the celebrations last year, demonstrating the huge amount of respect and admiration the Royal Family has for the NHS and the work our dedicated staff do.

Amanda, alongside other NHS workers, had her hard work recognised in the Robens Suite at Guy’s Hospital on Thursday 18 April. NHS London Regional Director Caroline Clarke presented their medals and recipients also received a signed letter from the Chief Executive of NHS England, Amanda Pritchard.
