Matthew Trainer

Matthew became Chief Executive of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on 6 July 2026. He joined the Trust from Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, where he had been Chief Executive since 2021.
Prior to this, Matthew was Chief Executive of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust for three years. He joined the team at Oxleas from King’s, having been Managing Director of the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH).
Matthew has also held senior positions at NHS England, the Care Quality Commission and the MS Society.
