Guide to healthcare

In 2026 we are launching a new campaign to help people find their way to the care they need – whether it’s going to their local pharmacy, a minor eye conditions service or resting up at home. The aim is to raise awareness of the full range of options and to increase people’s knowledge and understanding of what route to take for a particular symptom or condition.

At the heart of the campaign is an illustrated guide, co-produced with local communities and with input and review from a range of healthcare professionals from across our system.

We also have a digital version of the guide on our website and are running a year-round digital campaign on Meta, Google Display Network and Google Search to reinforce the message.

Please do look out for the campaign, download our communications toolkit and the resources below to share across your channels.

The guide

The guide is a print only document. If you would like to order some copies (for free) please contact: communications@selondonics.nhs.uk.

A promotional image is available to help you promote the guide with you audiences.

Pharmacy First

The aim of this campaign is to promote the offer from community pharmacy, where pharmacists can provide advice and prescription medicine (where needed) for:

  • sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
  • sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
  • earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
  • infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
  • shingles (aged 18 years and over)
  • urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)

Campaign messaging will focus on the symptoms experienced with these illnesses/conditions.

We will also promote the contraception service (contraceptive pill and emergency contraceptive pill) and blood pressure checks.

Why we get vaccinated

We’re supporting the Why we get vaccinated campaign across south east London to encourage people to have conversations around vaccinations. This multi-partner campaign seeks to build trust and land messages that resonate with London communities by being informative rather than instructive.

Please do look out for the campaign, download the resources and share across your channels.
